Designing Employee Shuttle Service Program for Employees in Makati Central Business District

Being the center of activity, Metro Manila faces issues pertaining to mobility and population. While the government tries to mitigate these problems, it is in the interest of corporations to look into ways how to improve the commute experience of their employees. This study aims to look at what the private sector can do to help reduce traffic congestion in the Central Business District while improving the travel experience of its employees. Finding an alternative can improve employee productivity whilst trying to shift private car users to higher occupancy transport. Data from employee surveys were analyzed to see the employees' profile, modal split, fare thresholds, and travel preferences for going to work and home. The results of this study can then be used as a guide in determining which company-provided alternative transport (shuttles, carpooling, outsourcing to transport network service) should be implemented for the company.
