Pushing the Frontiers of Reproducibility in Economics Research

Join the World Bank on its virtual event titled "Pushing the Frontiers of Reproducibility in Economics Research" on July 17, 2023.

New reproducibility standards democratize development economics: by making accessible the code and data underlying research papers, researchers everywhere can scrutinize methods, reproduce results, and replicate or build upon the analysis. However, current efforts to increase reproducibility are centered on top journals. How can new reproducibility standards diffuse more broadly across the discipline, and what role can development research institutions such as the World Bank and the IMF play? What impact could this have on researchers in lower-income countries? Panelists from the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, American Economics Association, Institute for Replication, and African Economic Research Consortium will discuss initiatives to promote reproducibility, including the World Bank’s new Reproducible Research Repository.
