Integrating climate and development is a pillar of the World Bank Group's (WBG) new Climate Change Action Plan 2021– 2025. To advance this, the WBG has launched a new, core diagnostic tool: The Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR). The CCDR covers various areas related to climate and development, such as the country’s climate commitments, policies, and capacities, priorities, macroeconomic and financial policies for climate. The report identifies the main pathways to support low-carbon development and address climate vulnerabilities and suggests priority and impactful actions, including the costs and challenges as well as benefits and opportunities from climate actions.
At the report launch, it aims to discuss (a) how climate change will affect the country’s ability to meet its development goals including green, resilient, and inclusive development; and (b) identify opportunities for climate action among the public and private sector.
