The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) will hold a public seminar on November 9, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the PIDS Conference Hall.
This event will feature the presentation “What Factors Explain Development Projects' Performance?" by Asian Development Bank (ADB) Principal Evaluation Specialist Dr. Hyun H. Son.
The presentation draws on the first two chapters of the ADB’s 2023 Annual Evaluation Review: What Explains ADB’s Project Performance, 2016–2022. The report analyzed the factors affecting the success of ADB-funded public sector or sovereign projects. It found that project and country factors influence the variation of the projects’ performance. It revealed that policy advice and technical assistance can mitigate the risks arising from these factors.
