Food Security, Social Safety Nets, and Social Protection


Join the Ateneo de Manila University on its second installment of the Policy and Governance of Sustainable Food Systems webinar series entitled “Food Security, Social Safety Nets, and Social Protection”. 

This webinar will explore how complementary interventions of short-term social safety nets and long-term social protection programs contribute to alleviating hunger and achieving food security. This webinar seeks to review and analyze key concepts, existing policies, and current practices, and in the process, clarify directions for policy change on social protection that may best promote the development of resilient and sustainable food systems. 

The webinar, which will be on 03 May 2023, Wednesday, at 3:00 – 5:00 PM (Philippine time), will feature the following speakers

Project Development Officer, Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project, Department of Social Welfare and Development

We shall also hear from two reactors: Mr. Elvin Ivan Uy, Executive Director of Philippine Business for Social Progress, as well as a representative from The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of Davao City.
