The presentation maps what recent research has achieved thus far in investigating the communicative language of young children in low-income contexts and how this may be influenced by home-based interactions. Using a semi-systematic review process, relevant literature was selected and then reviewed to identify strides achieved, lingering gaps, and niches for future studies.

Sipat Edukasyon is the annual research dissemination forum of the Education Research Program of the University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP CIDS).
