Gap Analysis of Key Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Conventions

This research seeks to provide empirical evidence that would serve as a basis in examining the capacity of the country to comply with OSH Conventions and eventually ratify the same. The Gap Analysis approach was used to determine the extent to which national laws and regulations and other measures complement the requirements of key ILO OSH Convention No. 155 (Occupational Safety and Health), C187 (Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health) and Protocol of 2002. The gap analysis was used to identify how the provisions of the conventions are reflected in the existing laws and practices in the country. The gap analysis included a review of the existing assessments and evaluations done on the implementation of national occupational safety and health standards.
