The goal of knowledge management is the shaing and reuse of information-research information in the case of research and academic agencies and institutions. In a world of scarce resources, this is a necessity. However, research information needs to be captured and stored before it may be shared and reused. A great deal of information, or knowledge if you will, is embedded in processes that require meticulous documentation. With the advent of digital tools, process documentation has ceased to be a cumbersome task and has increased its potential as a genuine source of knowldge to be shared. Herein lies the value of this book.
