This monograph discusses the governance strategies and practices of business families in relation to conglomerate that they own or control. As a case in point, it examines the Soriano family and its management of San Miguel Corporation and Anscor (Andres Soriano Corporation). The Sorianos are a prominent business family in the Philippines. Three generations of this family have led San Miguel Corporation. The company has been for a long time the largest Philippine private company. It is hoped that the present study will generate new inputs for the effective governance by the Asian business family.
