DRN 1997 Vol. XV No. 6-e: Mindanao Health Officials Take Lead in Health Care Programs

The success of health care financing programs depend greatly on the participation of the local government. Faced with insufficient budget for health of the national government, the local government officials of Mindanao took steps to set up their own health care financing programs in their cities and municipalities. This article discusses the projects undertaken by the Mindanao local officials and what measures they put up to ensure the sustainability of these programs when they leave office.
