Community-based health financing as experienced by the people of Guimba, Nueva Ecija in the Philippines is an example of a community-managed social health insurance project. The project is intended to make health services accessible and inexpensive to thrural populace. The scheme is also aimed at the increased involvement of participants in managing their health services and financing requirements.
