GENDER AND SOCIAL STATUS DIFFERENCES IN PERCEIVED TRAITS AND GOVERNANCE-ABILITIES OF POLITICAL CANDI


The study investigated the influences of respondent-gender, social class, politician-gender, and position of political candidate on perceived traits and governance-abilities of political candidates. Current study show that men and women political candidaes are perceived as having different traits and governance-abilities. The interviewees reported their preference for a male mayor but said both male and female can be good president.
