Taken from a different angle, the severe road traffic problems in Metro Manila may be attributed to factors related to the use, or misuse, of traffic control devices. Some impressions on this system are therefore presented in the article along with suggestions on what can be done to make these devices effective and serve their purpose. Along with recommendations, identified also are the solutions which shall be worked on by the Traffic Engineering and Management Project, of the Ministry of Public Highways, to the deficiencies in the traffic problems of Metro Manila.
