PPJ Vol. VI No. 1 1974-04: Exploding the Myths in the Metropolis

A review of the book “Urbanization and National Development” which was edited by Leo Jakobson and Ved Prakash (1971), the critique emphasized on the aim of the book of uncovering myths about Asian cities using facts and models on urban population growth, land policies, and economic development, among others, thereby enjoining a more careful research “into the problems and processes of urbanization in Asia…”. Aside from noting each of the chapters of the book, the article more importantly analyzes and comments on these and what the book presents in general.
