The Greater Manila Area (GMA), composed of Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Bulacan andPampanga, with a total population of about 25 million and produces 40 percent of the country’s GDP, is an importanteconomic center of the country. Although the government has started to recognize the importance of the urban logisticssystem, current policies are still inadequate to protect the stakeholders and economic assets that are recurrently affected byvarious issues confronting urban freight transport. Hence, this paper will focus on these issues, and how these can beaddressed to improve urban logistics in the Greater Manila Area.
