Urban development is one big business. It is no wonder why the private sector (real estate developers) is assuming the lead role in urban development instead of the public sector. It should be taken into account that urban development is not only about business and profits. It also involves social responsibilities. It is in this context that the research examined the contribution of urban developer’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) to the sustainability of the urban communities.
Considering that quality of life is involved in the sustainability of urban communities, qualitative method was used in this research. This was accomplished through personal interviews, ocular inspection, and examination of relevant documents and other researches. Opinions and comments coming from the CSR beneficiaries were also taken into account.
After identifying the CSR programs and projects of the urban developers of Bonifacio Global City; and finding its contribution to the quality of life of the beneficiaries, it was found out that the CSR programs and projects of the urban developers has contributed to the sustainability of urban communities. Those contributions considered the three (3) sectors of development planning to include social, economic, and environmental.
