Reset and Rebuild for a Better Philippines in the Post-pandemic World: Proceedings of the Seventh Annual Public Policy Conference 2021

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has caused devastating health, economic, and social impacts globally. The crisis has led to business closures and job losses, consequently increasing poverty incidence and widening inequalities in the Philippines and worldwide. Hence, in 2021, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies dedicated the Seventh Annual Public Policy Conference to discuss key strategies for resetting and rebuilding the Philippine economy while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.  Through the APPC, renowned international and local experts and policy analysts from various fields and representatives from the government, academe, private sector, and civil society shared insights on how to promote ethical business and green and inclusive recovery and develop a robust and healthy workforce to rebuild the country into a post-pandemic nation that is equitable, sustainable, and resilient.

This publication, which compiles the presentations and discussions during the four-part APPC webinar series, is a practical resource for the public and policymakers alike in making informed decisions regarding the post-pandemic future of the Philippines.
