Regional Economic Situationer 2Q 2022


The quarterly regional economic situationer highlights the region's economic performance based on selected indicators, namely: prices and inflation rate, labor force situation, agricultural production, mineral production, tourist arrivals, and the development outlook for the succeeding quarter. The economy of the Bicol Region continued to recover in the second quarter of 2022. The average inflation rate of the region dropped to 4.7 percent from 6.8 percent in the second quarter of 2021. The region's labor market situation generally improved as the employment rate increased to 93.8 percent from 93.0 percent in the second quarter of 2021. Metallic and non-metallic mineral production value in the region went up by 7.6 percent compared to the second quarter of 2021. Favorable circumstances were recorded which are expected to uplift agricultural production. Tourist arrivals in the region increased by 29.6 percent compared to the second quarter of 2021.
