This paper documents the proceedings of the "Awareness Seminar on P.D. No. 1083 (Code of Muslim Personal Laws) and Other Laws Affecting Muslims in the Philippines," held at the University of the Philippines Baguio. The study focuses on enhancing the legal literacy of both Muslim and non-Muslim communities regarding the Shari’ah legal system and its integration within the Philippine national legal framework. Key discussions address the jurisdictional boundaries of Shari’ah courts, the specific provisions of the Code of Muslim Personal Laws (CMPL) concerning marriage, divorce, and inheritance, and the challenges faced by Muslims living outside the Bangsamoro region. By synthesizing perspectives from legal experts and Shari’ah practitioners, the proceedings highlight the need for greater institutional support, the professionalization of Shari’ah judges, and the protection of Muslim civil rights across the archipelago. Ultimately, the research advocates for an inclusive approach to legal education that fosters religious sensitivity and ensures equal access to justice for the Filipino Muslim minority.
