This paper documents the proceedings of “Namit Gid!: A Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration for Ilonggo’s Batchoy,” which details a food safety and packaging training workshop for establishment representatives in Iloilo City. The study examines the intersection of traditional culinary heritage and modern food safety standards, focusing on the technical requirements for hygiene, sanitation, and sustainable packaging solutions. Key discussions center on the challenges faced by local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in complying with national health regulations, the importance of maintaining the authenticity of Ilonggo cuisine, and the role of multi-stakeholder partnerships in boosting the local food economy. By synthesizing insights from food technologists, local government officials, and entrepreneurs, the proceedings advocate for a collaborative framework that ensures public health while enhancing the commercial viability of traditional food products. Ultimately, the research highlights that institutional support for food safety and innovation is critical for preserving cultural heritage and promoting sustainable tourism in Western Visayas.
