Pursuant to Republic Act Number 8752 (Anti-Dumping Act of 1999), the Tariff Commission (TC) conducted a formal investigation on the merits of imposing definitive anti-dumping duties against importations of Gypsum Board (AHTN 2022 Subheading Nos. 6809.11.00 and 6809.19.90) from Thailand.
After careful assessment, the TC found that the elements for the imposition of definitive anti-dumping duties were met (e.g., domestic industry requirement, product comparability, existence of dumping, price undercutting, price suppression). The Commission thus recommended that definitive anti-dumping duties be imposed on imports of standard gypsum board, faced or reinforced with paper or paperboard only (classified under AHTN 2022 subheading 6809.11.00) from Thailand for a period of five years.
