Davao Regional Development Plan (DRDP), 2017-2022 Midterm Update

As with the original DRDP launched in 2017, this Midterm Update has a firm linkage to and relationship with the updated version of the Philippine Development Plan (PDP), 2017–2022, through its strategic development framework, wherein national and regional societal goals are substantially aligned. The DRDP, 2017–2022 Midterm Update continues to be strongly anchored on a Philippine long-term vision—Ambisyon Natin 2040, whereby each Davaoeño shall live a Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Buhay. This Plan maintains its course but widens the way for an accelerated drive toward its development vision. This updated Plan expands its coverage by adding Chapter 21: International Migration and Development, which explores the dynamic aspect of internal and international migration, employment of Davaoeños ovearseas, entry of foreign investors and jobs for foreign workers, and issues surrouding therein, among others. This new Chapter aims to advance the Region’s pursuit of inclusive growth by further strengthening coordination efforts among the public and private sectors relative to migration, promote full, decent and productive employment, and propose and support policies, programs, and projects related to migration and development.
