The Davao Regional Physical Framework Plan (DRPFP), 2025-2055 is formulated to serve as guide to public sector policy and decision makers in bringing about efficient settlement, production and service delivery systems for sustainable land use and disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. The changes in land uses; enactment of new laws; availability of recent data generated from official surveys and censuses; recalibrated plans, and new policy directions necessitate the need to update the region’s physical framework plan. This initial updating of DRPFP 2015-2045, is an input to the updating of the Mindanao Spatial Strategy Development Framework, which is expected to be completed in 2025. While it also links with the National Framework for Physical Planning, 2001-2030, it also affects and links with the Davao Regional Development Plan, 2025-2028, and the Davao Regional Development Investment Program. With the DRPFP, the programs, activities and projects to be undertaken by the government and private sectors shall be more focused and aligned to support the realization of the goal and shared vision of Davao Region. The importance of the DRPFP recumbents to its role in the effective utilization, development and management of the region’s land and other natural resources. The Plan shall provide policy recommendations that were formulated borne from the extensive assessment, and are useful for local government units and regional line agencies in identifying the necessary programs, projects and activities to be undertaken to attain Davao Region’s vision.
