Considerations in Integrating Indigenous Healing in the Intercultural Health Guidelines for Indigenous Peoples of Northern Luzon, Philippines

IPs have unique health needs requiring contextualized interventions that address their holistic well-being. Indigenous healing is the responsive, culturallyappropriate health system espoused by IPs. It is accessible irrespective of social stratification, significant in the IPs’ conservation of their environment, accords holistic healing and carries time- and experience-tested IKSPs. Regardless, IH is upheld by IPs because such would form their cultural identity, cultural integrity and self-determination. Indigenous identifiers are lacking in the current health system. There is a need to integrate indigenous parameters in the intercultural health guidelines for IPs in Northern Luzon, Philippines.
