The endeavor to determine the opinion of Batangas City residents on how its national government implemented its policies to fight the COVID-19 pandemic is an inquiry rarely pursued in measuring the people’s awareness and perception on the effectiveness of the state's readiness in handling the global health emergency. Hence, this study measured Batangas City residents’ level of awareness and the presumed competence of the central polity to stave off the effects of the COVID-19 infection. This study used the quantitative research method to examine if there was a significant relationship between the rate of awareness and the level of effectiveness of the national government’s initiatives and response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The results revealed that the factors are unrelated to the relationship between respondents’ knowledge and the perceived efficacy of the National Government's response to the Covid-19 epidemic. Hence, an action plan is an effective tool for addressing the gaps between the national government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the general welfare of its constituents. Thus, this would significantly impact the opinion of the public, who directly analyze the situations in the national crises as they carry out local and national government initiatives, services, and programs.
