Dr. Glenn B. Gregorio is the director of the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture and a professor at the Institute of Crop Science, College of Agriculture and Food Science of the University of the Philippines Los Baños. He was recently appointed Chairman of the Technical Panel for Agriculture by the Commission on Higher Education and a steering committee member of the Department of Agriculture Biotechnology Program.

He worked at the International Rice Research Institute for nearly three decades, wherein he developed over 15 rice varieties. He also worked at the East-West Seed Company, Inc. as its global breeding manager for corn.

He has published more than 120 scientific journals, book chapters, policy papers, and manuals. His numerous awards include the following: Ten Outstanding Youth Scientists of the Philippines when he was in high school; Outstanding Young Scientist in the field of genetics; Honorary Foreign Scientist of the Rural Development Administration of Korea; The Outstanding Young Men in the Philippines; Ho Chi Minh Medal for his contribution to agriculture and rural development of Vietnam; and achievement awards in crop research and R&D management.

Dr. Gregorio was conferred the rank of Academician by the National Academy of Science and Technology. He was recently recognized as the 2020 UPLB College of Agriculture and Food Science Distinguished Alumnus for Rice Genetics and Breeding and one of the 2021 Filipino Faces of Biotechnology. He is one of the 2021 United Nations Food Systems Summit champions.
