Policy Gaps and Economic Reform: Prescriptions for Sustained Growth


The Philippines, over the past twelve years, has been undertaking a series of structural reforms designed to raise its economic growth to a higher and sustainable path. This reform agenda is still unfinished until today. However, a new dimension of the development task has emerged. Engulfed in the Asian financial crisis, the Estrada administration needs to fine tune existing economic plans and programs without losing sight of the long-term goal of sustained economic growth.
