THE AMERICAN OCCUPATION OF THE GLOBAL CLIMATE COMMONS

The pullout of the Bush administration from the Kyoto Protocol on climate change brought a severe backlash that was unpredictable rapid and global in scope. If it agrees to reduce its greenhouse (GHG) emissions by 2008-2012 to below 7 percent of its 1990total, the American economy would invariably stall. And this prognosis is not help any by the current energy crisis that has been crippling California. However, global climate change can be helped both by the developed and developing countries.
