The year 1979 has marked PIDS` second year and the launching of its initial research program. The latter has been made possible by the release during the year of the grant funds intended to support the Institute`s operations. The greatest emphasis has been placed in the implementation of the Institute`s research program. At the same time, continuing efforts are made to expand the Institute`s financial base order to enable it to operate more effectively on a self-sustaining basis.
